Indonesia brings home two titles from French Open

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia brought home two titles from the Super Series of the French Open after mixed doubles Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir, and men doubles Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan booked a victory in the finals offering a prize of 200,000 US dollars.

The third ranking mixed doubles Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir grabbed the second title this year after winning the final of the French Open along with fellow mixed doubles Hendra Aprida Gunawan and Vita Marissa.


In the first round held at Pierre de Coubertin Stadium, Paris, Sunday Jakarta time, the Indonesian mixed doubles, twice world champion, needed only 20 minutes to grab the title with the score 21-7, 21-7 in their first encounter against Hendra and Vita.

Nova and Liliyana who were champions this year in the Malaysian Open Super Series are after a gold in the 2009 SEA Games 2009 in Laos in December 2009.(*)
